Rodney Jones has over 30 years of experience as a financial planner. Because of the complexity and ever changing nature of the financial environment, he is committed to a high level of financial education for both himself and his clients. Consequently, he has earned the designations of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Certified Fund Specialist (CFS), and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP). In addition, he attends at least 80 hours per year of continuing education classes to remain abreast of current tax law and new financial planning techniques and strategies. As an Investment Advisor Representative of Cetera Advisor Networks LLC, when working with advisory accounts Rodney acts in a fiduciary capacity. Financial advisors working in a fiduciary capacity are held to a "higher standard of care" and must place all clients' interests ahead of their own, making sure that all fees and conflicts of interest are fully disclosed. Finally, Rodney serves as both an OSJ Manager and Registered Principal for Cetera Advisor Networks LLC.

Rodney's practice is based on the "consultative" or "trusted advisor approach." Using this method, emphasis is based on the development of a customized, lifetime financial plan. Consequently, recommendations and plans are not developed until the advisor has obtained a clear and detailed picture of both the client's financial and personal situation. The primary focus is on the strategies that help minimize income and estate taxes, while also minimizing investment and longevity risks. Each financial plan is highly individualized and takes into account the unique situation and risk tolerance of the client. After implementation of the plan, annual reviews are necessary to make changes necessitated by changes in tax law and the client's personal circumstances. In other words, after implementation Rodney acts as a "financial coach" to help clients pursue their stated objectives.
